Yvette Rovira was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She began singing at the age of 8 when her mother bought her a karaoke machine after she discovered her daughter singing in the shower and around the house. Soon thereafter Yvette became involved in performing arts groups and musical theatre Productions, and was awarded with the "Disney's Dreamers and Doers Award". She also had the opportunity to sing the national anthem for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and for Bill Clinton at the Democratic National Convention.
After graduating from High School, Yvette was accepted into the Berklee College of Music, where she went on to study vocal performance, songwriting and Music Business. It was at Berklee where Yvette met the founding members of Lifted. While she began collaborating with her new musical friends soon thereafter, she did not become a part of the band until a few years later. In the meantime, Yvette graduated with a bachelors degree and moved to NYC to pursue a solo career as a singer and songwriter, as well as starting her own publishing company (Kisui LLC). Since then Yvette has gone on to record 2 albums.
Her current album was produced by the 2 time emmy award winning producer Rob Mounsey and mixed by Rich Travalli (Robin Thicke, Jay Z, Nas). Her self titled solo album has received exceptional reviews, and multiple licensing agreements from VH1, MTV, MUSAC, the Logo channel as well as the CWS. Her songs have been featured on hit tv shows (Fantasia For Real, What Chilli Wants, Beverly Hills Fabulous, Set Up Squad), movies (Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls), and can be heard in retail stores (Old Navy, Banana Republic, The Gap, Nine West), fitness centers (Bally total fitness, Crunch), and beauty shops nationwide. Two years ago, Yvette had the opportunity to do a solo show in China, and she hired Lifted to be her back up band. As a result, a new Lifted Crew was formed from this new bond upon their return to the states.
Yvette feels honored, inspired and extremely blessed to be in the company of such talented musicians. She truly feels that she has grown as a performer and musician from having worked with and loving this talented group of people. She looks forward to all Lifted Crew can accomplish, and to seeing hat the music evolves into.
